I have been interested in photography since I was a child and took my first real picture with my mom’s camera when I was close to five years old. Before that, however, I already had my own toy camera. About two and a half years later I got my first real camera. The first pictures I have that I took with my own camera are some black and white pictures taken on a summer vacation when I was seven years old.
At thirteen, I was on Bornholm with seventh grade and had invested in a new Canon Prima 5 camera before the trip. One of the tasks on the trip was to make a Bornholm folder about our experiences. I took a lot of pictures on the trip and they all ended up in the folder. Afterwards my class teacher wrote “You took some incredibly good photographs on the trip”.
The following year I took an after school class in photography and a few years later at the efterskole1 I went to, I had photography as an elective.
At the age of twenty-six, I bought my first DSLR: a Canon EOS 350D. Since then, I have learned a lot about photography, Photoshop and Lightroom Classic through, among other things, photography books, online courses and of course, trying out things and playing with the medium on my own.
When I was interning at Mira Data a few years later, I did a little bit of product photography and some portraits of the employees.
In addition, I have photographed several weddings and (Danish Evangelical-Lutheran) confirmations, as well as helped one of my cousins with product photography of product designs she made as part of her education.
For a number of years I also made my own Christian Christmas cards. However, that tradition died in the summer of 2017 when, in a trembling anxiety, I left Christianity because I could no longer in good conscience remain a Christian.
